MEET OUR PASTORS

Red Oak is composed of elders, deacons, and members. The responsibilities and qualifications of elders (pastors) align with 1 Timothy 3. Pastors are devoted to the Word of God, and to the Church as teachers, leaders, models, and by devoting themselves to prayer. Red Oak Church is founded upon an Eldership Model of Leadership. The New Testament uses the words 'elder', 'pastor', and 'overseer' interchangeably, as Paul defines the office of elders and pastors within the church. As you walk through the New Testament, it is continuously pointing back to this direction of leadership. We believe that pastor-driven leadership sustains healthy accountability within our staff, and best protects the health of the church as a whole. We believe that the best accountability for the leader(s) of a church is maintained when the responsibility of leadership is well-delegated, and equally shared.

Red Oak is currently composed of six elders who share the responsibilities of leading, shepherding, and teaching the church as a whole.

Joseph Tucker

Joseph was saved by grace through faith in Jesus as a teenager and from that moment on has been passionate about leading others to this God of all grace. After receiving his degree in Religious Studies from Appalachian State University, he married his high school sweetheart, Allie, and a couple of years later moved back to their hometown right outside of Winston-Salem, NC. There, the Lord led him into ministry at Center Grove Church, where he was given opportunities to lead, primarily in family ministry, and learn from the many faithful people he served with. During this time, he completed his Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and welcomed two awesome boys to the family, Titus and Case. In 2021, the Lord led Joseph and his family to Andrews, NC, where he would join the faithful team of elders at Red Oak Church.

MEET OUR DEACONS

Based on the New Testament, the role of the deacon is mainly to be a servant. The church needs deacons to provide logistical and material support so that the elders can focus on teaching, shepherding, and leading the congregation as a whole.
